Girl-Wonder & MyNerdGirl Ad

Postby Verdant » Sat Sep 08, 2007 6:28 pm

The following is the rough ad concept Robert, Powerlad, and I are working on for both www.Girl-Wonder.org and MyNerdGirl.com:

Image

The slogan is only my initial idea. The slogan for Girl-Wonder.org is "Because capes aren't just for boys." I wanted to evoke a similar sentiment, but since Scotch Bonnet and Suravi don't wear capes, I needed something else.

I really like the look of it so far Tommy. I'll avoid the pun and just say it's excellent :D

I like the perspective.

I've got my fingers crossed, hoping that SB's eyes are going to be looking through the corners of her eyes at the page. That would be SO sexy!

Great sketch overall.
Is this thing on?

I also love Woot's stance in the ad. He looks all proud, with hands on hips ;).

Some suggested slogans

Postby JT » Sun Sep 09, 2007 6:25 am

Some suggested slogans:

...........Do NOT take these seriously!!! (italics are comments, not part of the slogan.)

The Marines are looking for a few good men (picture) Their loss!

Looking for a girl sidekick? (picture) Keep looking.

Looking for a girl sidekick? (picture) Bend over.

...Just a girl??? (picture) Smile when you say that ... buddy. (boy, bubba, himbo... what's a derogatory name for a male? If you say 'male', you're fired.)

Why do boobs help sell comic books? (picture) Because boobs buy them.

Why, yes. We are sweet, innocent, helpless girls... (picture) and you're toast.

You want us girls to sew you a costume? (picture) Here you go -- bow tie and g-string. Start dancing. (The very FIRST comic that started me on the way to feminism was X-Men # 1, when Jean Grey decides to make costumes for all the guys. Of course she could sew -- she's a gur-ul. <barf>)

Girls don't just take messages any more (picture) we've got one for you.

Suravi! Scotch Bonnet! (picture) We may be female, but we ain't Girls!

Slogans? Hmmmmmm not bad John here are a few lamer ones from me

Looking for some girls to save? Keep looking

Girl power...only better

Go ahead and stare at their chests but while you do that they'll kick your butt

Sure comics are a boys thing. Leave actually saving the world to the girls

You make the sexist jokes. They provide the punchline

You only hate/love us because we're beautiful, intelligent, independant, tough, streetwise, capable and superpowered

Still think this is a man's world?

The three B's: Brains, Brawn.............and Bravery! Of Course!

Feel free to make a sexist joke...I just hope your pants are flame retardant

These Damsels may get distressed but they rescue themselves

Supermen? Think again, bucko

Home Economics? Sorry we took the Super Heroism elective

Why women can save the world? Well they don't put it on hold for Superbowl

Why women can save the world? Do you have to ask?

Sure we'd wait for a guy to save us...if he was delivering a snow shovel to Hell!
