History: Lillian Thunderfoot was born on the Timbisha Shoshone reservation in Nevada, 50 miles west of Yucca Mountain, the US Government's proposed nuclear depository. Her mother and father were ardent anti-nuclear power activists who never had time for her during her childhood. As a bookish lesbian, Lillian avoided her sister's fate, who became pregnant at 15, while Lillian went on to become the first member of her family to attend college. She graduated in three years from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a degree in Physics, plus a minor in Women's Studies. Throughout her childhood, Lillian nurtured a deep-seated resentment for her parent's "cause." After receiving a doctorate in Nuclear Physics, she sought and gained employment as a researcher at Yucca Mountain. Far more than her lesbianism, this caused an irreconcilable rift between Lillian and her parents.

As one of the few women and the only American Indian on the research staff, Lillian still excelled at Yucca Mountain, having been inured to hardship from her rough childhood on the reservation. But then she discovered something quite by accident when looking over documents that somehow found their way to her desk. Years before schedule, Yucca Mountain was already depositing nuclear waste in the facility. Using her security clearance, she made her way down to the unauthorized area just as a containment breach occured. She was irradiated from head to toe. But instead of dying, she discovered that she gained the ability to greatly increase her density, even as she grew in stature to over 8 feet. Now weighing over 10 tons and with enough strength to move much more, all quake at the approach of Thunderfoot!
